OpenOffice.org 2.0 will support "language pack"
Details: IZ #10043. Summary: No need to install many copies of OO.o in the same machine just to get multiple languages support. Instead, install one copy of OO.o + any additional language pack as desired.

OpenOffice.org Base 2.0
Something comparable to MS Access, a small, self-containted, database for ‘personal’ (stand-alone) use. OO.o Base will use HSQLDB as its engine (not final yet). Microsoft Deutschland GmbH will joins, as exhibitor, OpenOffice.org Conference 2004 at Humboldt University Berlin, Germany. ไม่แปลกเท่าไหร่ เพราะปีที่ผ่านมา MS ก็ไปร่วมงานโอเพนซอร์สใหญ่ๆ เกือบทุกที่อยู่แล้ว บางที่ไปเป็นผู้สนับสนุนหลักด้วยซ้ำ แต่ครั้งนี้อาจจะตื่นเต้นนิดหน่อย เพราะว่างานส่วนใหญ่ที่ผ่านๆ มา จะเป็นลักษณะหลายเวนเดอร์ – คือไม่ได้ไปชนกะใครตรงๆ แต่งานนี้ คาดว่า MS ก็คงขนเทคโนโลยี MS Office ต่างๆ มาชนในงานตรงๆ เลย เล่นกันแบบนี้ก็สนุกดี เห็นกันจะๆ ไปเลย แอบเชียร์ MS เล็กๆ ด้วยซ้ำ (OOo จะได้พัฒนาเร็วๆ กว่านี้) 😛
