จากรายชื่อมรดกโลกในยุโรปที่วิกิพีเดีย
มีมรดกโลกที่ตั้งข้ามพรมแดนอยู่ 12 แห่ง ซึ่งส่วนใหญ่ก็จะแชร์ร่วมกันสองประเทศ
ยกเว้นอยู่ที่เดียว คือ Struve Geodetic Arc ซึ่งแชร์ร่วมกัน 10 ประเทศ ใช่ครับ 10 ประเทศ (ข้อมูลเพิ่มเติมโดยยูเนสโก [pdf])

อีกอันหนึ่งที่น่าสนใจ ก็คือ Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park ที่เป็นมรดกโลกที่ตั้งอยู่ในสหรัฐอเมริกาและแคนาดา บริเวณอุทยานนานาชาตินี้ เป็นเขตที่พรมแดนระหว่างประเทศถูกยกเลิก ซึ่งรวมถึงการนำเอาสิ่งกีดขวาง กำแพง รั้วต่าง ๆ ทางกายภาพออกไปหมด เพื่อให้สัตว์ป่าและผู้คนสามารถเดินทางไปมาได้อย่างอิสระ

A Transboundary Protected Area is a protected area that spans across boundaries of multiple countries, where the political border sections that are enclosed within its area are abolished. This includes removal of all forms of physical boundaries, such as fences, allowing free migration of animals and humans within the area. A boundary around the area may however be maintained to prevent unauthorised border crossing. Such areas are also known by terms such as Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs) or Peace Parks.
