โอเพนออฟฟิศดอทอ็อก 2.0 จะเปลี่ยนไปใช้ โอเพน ออฟฟิศ เอ็กซ์เอ็มแอล ฟอร์แมต (Open Office XML Format) ตามมาตรฐานของ โอเอซิส (OASIS)

Below are the default file format names and extensions of the coming OpenOffice.org 2.0.

• Open Office Text [.oot]
• Open Office Text Template [.ott]
• Open Office Master Document [.oom]
• HTML Document Template [.oth]
• Open Office Spreadsheet [.oos]
• Open Office Spreadsheet Template [.ots]
• Open Office Drawing [.ood]
• Open Office Drawing Template [.otd]
• Open Office Presentation [.oop]
• Open Office Presentation Template [.otp]
• Open Office Formula [.oom]
• Open Office Database [.odb]

Notice the name of the format, it is “Open Office” — *NOT* “OpenOffice.org”. As the format is intended to be used by any office suite or related application/service, not only for OpenOffice.org software.
